1954

Minneapolis-Moline Türk Traktör ve Ziraat Makineleri A.Ş. Was Established

A preliminary protocol was signed between MKE, TZDK, Ziraat Bankası, Tariş, Çukobirlik, and Minneapolis-Moline. Under the protocol, a company headquartered in Ankara would be established under the name Minneapolis-Moline Türk Traktör ve Ziraat Makineleri A.Ş., while Minneapolis-Moline Co. would operate the factory under an operating agreement by providing the required local and foreign personnel. The establishment of the company was approved by a Council of Ministers Decision dated June 25, 1954, and published in the Official Gazette on July 29, 1954.

1955

The First Tractor

Türkiye’s first tractor was produced at TürkTraktör’s facilities on March 8, 1955.

1962

Fiat Tractor Assembly Began

In the second half of 1962, 180 Fiat 411R tractors were assembled.

1963

Year of Agreement and Renovations

A commercial agreement was signed with Egemak, Fiat’s general distributor in Türkiye, and Egemak began selling tractors manufactured and assembled at TürkTraktör’s facilities. TürkTraktör also became a member of MESS (Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries).

1964

First Collective Bargaining Agreement

On May 6, 1964, one of the first major institutional collective bargaining agreements establishing modern trade union rights in the metal industry was signed at a ceremony held at the factory.

1965

Türk Fiat

Production of the “Minneapolis Moline Türk Traktörü” model was discontinued, and production of tractors under the “Türk Fiat” brand began.

1967

Fiat and Egemak Became Shareholders

Internazionale Holding Fiat S.A. and Egemak became shareholders in the company. Under a Commercial Cooperation Agreement signed with Otokoç, the assembly of 24 combine harvesters was completed.

1968

Türk Traktör ve Ziraat Makineleri A.Ş.

The company’s name was changed to “Türk Traktör ve Ziraat Makineleri A.Ş.”

1977

From Egemak to Trakmak

Egemak transferred its general sales, dealership, and technical service operations to Trakmak, established as a 100% Koç Group subsidiary.

1978

100,000th Tractor Produced

Production of the 100,000th tractor was celebrated. The tractor was donated to Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture.

1979

Türkiye’s First Tractor Export

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, TürkTraktör exported 300 Fiat 480 tractors to Pakistan, marking its first export in the automotive industry.

1981

Cooperation with RAM Dış Ticaret A.Ş.

Cooperation with RAM Dış Ticaret A.Ş. began for exports to Middle Eastern and North African countries. Preparations were completed for a new product called the “BM 148 Baler,” and production began.

1982

Exports to Iran

TürkTraktör signed an agreement with Iran for the export of 5,000 tractors. A total of 2,100 Fiat 640 tractors were exported through RAM Dış Ticaret A.Ş.

1988

Tractor Body Production

TürkTraktör began production of the “tractor body” (crocera). Consisting of transmission and differential housings, reducers, and hydraulic lifts, the tractor body was produced for the first time for shipment to Fiat in Italy.

1989

56 Series with Hydraulic Lift

Production of the 56 Series tractors began. These tractors, equipped with hydraulic lifts, were not produced by other Fiat-affiliated companies, paving the way for the export of the 56 Series to Fiat. TürkTraktör’s Wastewater Treatment Plant was also commissioned with advanced, multi-purpose technology.

1992

TürkTraktör Became Fully Privatized

The company’s public-sector shareholder, the Public Participation Administration, transferred all of its shares to Koç Group on September 12, 1992. With this development, TürkTraktör became fully privatized.

1993

TürkTraktör Resumed Engine Production

After a long hiatus, TürkTraktör resumed engine production. Fiat Geotech S.P.A. was renamed New Holland N.V., making New Holland N.V. the company’s foreign shareholder.

1998

New Partnership, New Era, New Brand

Under the partnership agreement signed between Koç Holding A.Ş. and New Holland N.V., the registered shares held by the two companies were equalized, and TürkTraktör adopted a joint management structure. Products previously manufactured under the “Türk Fiat” brand began to be produced under the “New Holland” brand.

1999

CNH – Case New Holland

Fiat acquired Case and merged it with New Holland to establish Case New Holland (CNH Global). As a result, CNH – Case New Holland became a shareholder in TürkTraktör.

2004

Went Public in Its 50th Year

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, TürkTraktör offered 24.99% of its shares to the public on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. A specially produced gold-colored tractor was displayed at a ceremony marking the company’s 50th anniversary.

2007

TürkTraktör Produced Its 500,000th Tractor

The 500,000th tractor produced by TürkTraktör was donated to Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture.

2008

Merger of TürkTraktör and New Holland Trakmak

TürkTraktör and New Holland Trakmak merged under the TürkTraktör umbrella.

2009

Ankara R&D Center Registered

TürkTraktör’s Ankara R&D Center was officially registered by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye.

2010

200,000th Engine Produced

TürkTraktör produced its 200,000th engine.

2011

The Legend Returned

The legendary orange Fiat 480 Series tractor from the 1970s was brought back in a limited production run of just 480 units.

The Tier III project, preparations for which began in 2009, was completed, making TürkTraktör the first company in Türkiye to begin serial production of Tier III agricultural engines.

Netherlands-based CNH Global N.V., one of the company’s shareholders, transferred its stake in the company to its wholly owned Austrian subsidiary, CNH Österreich GmbH.

The 600,000th tractor rolled off the production line.

2013

Erenler Factory Opened

The foundation of TürkTraktör’s Erenler Plant was laid. An Import and Distribution Agreement was signed with CNHI International SA for the import of New Holland and Case branded construction equipment and the provision of domestic sales, marketing, and after-sales services.

2014

Erenler Plant Opened

Coinciding with TürkTraktör’s 60th anniversary, the company opened its second plant in Erenler, Sakarya, increasing its production capacity to 50,000 units.

2016

TürkTraktör Initiates Conscious Farmer Safe Farming Project

TürkTraktör produced its 800,000th tractor and 400,000th engine. TürkTraktör’s Ankara Plant achieved the “Bronze Plant” level in the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) audit.

2017

“Bilinçli Çiftçi Güvenli Tarım” and “Filizlerin Mucizeleri”

The “Bilinçli Çiftçi Güvenli Tarım” project was launched to reduce tractor accidents and raise awareness of safe tractor use. The “Filizlerin Mucizeleri” project was also launched to increase women’s participation in the agricultural and automotive workforce in Türkiye and support gender equality.

2018

Istanbul R&D, Design and Innovation Office

In addition to its R&D Center in Ankara, TürkTraktör opened a new R&D, Design and Innovation Office in Istanbul.

2019

Erenler Plant Achieved Silver Plant Level

TürkTraktör’s Erenler Plant achieved another milestone by reaching the “Silver Plant” level in the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) system.

2020

Local Production of Backhoe Loaders

TürkTraktör began local production of backhoe loaders at its Ankara Plant.

2021

1 Millionth Tractor

TürkTraktör reached another major milestone in its history by rolling its one millionth tractor off the production line.

2022

TR6 Series Cab Production

TürkTraktör began producing TR6 Series cabs at its Erenler Plant, which had previously been sourced from abroad. The company also produced the 600,000th engine in its history.

2023

1,000th Locally Produced Backhoe Loader

TürkTraktör reached an important milestone in its construction equipment business, producing its 1,000th locally manufactured backhoe loader following the product’s launch in early 2020.

2024

TürkTraktör Breaks New Ground in Shaping the Future of Agriculture

Celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2024, TürkTraktör launched its first electric tractor, as well as an autonomous spraying machine and an agricultural robot.
